What is Sónar Hong Kong

 

The Hong Kong edition of the pioneering festival from Barcelona celebrating music, creativity and technology.

Respected by music fans the world over for its eclectic lineup, high-quality production and unwavering support for legendary and pioneering electronic artists, Sónar represents another major coup for Hong Kong’s cultural scene. Linking music, creativity and creative technology, Sónar has a well-earned reputation for uniting electronic music lovers and creative people from different disciplines and communities, offering a unique platform for cultural collaboration.
 
The festival, which was launched in 1994 and has gone on to host a diverse array of music and creative technology innovators every year since, debuted on 1st April 2017, and all is set to return for the festival’s fourth instalment on 28th March 2020.
 
Festival goers can look forward to an expertly curated mix of established artists and hotly tipped emerging talents, and diverse performances ranging from live acts to DJs, and dance-floor-driven sets to experimental electronica.
  
Alongside the music, festival goers will find an intriguing programme of creative technology experiences in the Sónar+D section, which is fun and inspirational, these include hands-on workshops hosted by leading creative pioneers; thought-provoking talks by tech-industry trailblazers; spectacular audio-visual performances and new media arts featuring AR, VR, AI and more; and MarketLab, where visitors can try out new products and prototypes from around the world, from the latest apps and devices to digital innovations and musical instruments.
