The Animato Audio Modular Synthesiser 101 Workshop provides a detailed insight into the world of modern modular synthesisers to inspire people with their nigh-endless musical possibilities. We will be covering: modular synthesis basics and principles; advanced patch building from scratch; and generative strategies and techniques. Participants will be encouraged to get hands-on and take part in patching and interaction with a modular system. A live, interactive, improvised jam session, in which audience members are welcome to take part, will be held at the end of the workshop.

Opened in mid-2018, Animato Audio is an electronic musical instrument store and live music venue located in Sheung Wan, with an online store as well. The shop offers the latest in all kinds of cutting-edge music technologies, with a particular focus on Eurorack format modular synthesizers.
