META is an immersive audio-visual journey into future and unknown worlds presented as a game simulation with live soundtrack by new media artist CLON (Estela Oliva) in collaboration with electronic musician NWRMNTC (Ana Quiroga).
Inspired by sci-fi narratives and cyberpunk aesthetics, META invites the audience to enter a simulated world, a parallel reality unfolding in real-time through interconnected utopian and dystopian scenes. Presented in a video game format, the performance is experienced in “first person” view, allowing the public to be part of the experience, like transient travelers of the virtual space. Along this uncanny trip, the original soundtrack is scored live by NWRMNTC featuring cinematic atmospheres with dark ambiences, tribal rhythms and digitally processed voices, which create a mystic palette of imaginary worlds.
CLON the project of artist and curator Estela Oliva, in which she explores science fiction and speculative futures, using new media to blend virtual and physical worlds. Estela has collaborated and exhibited internationally at Somerset House (London), Barbican Centre (London), Art Night (London), Espacio Fundacion Telefonica (Peru), Mobile World Centre (Barcelona), Ars Electronica (Linz) and Mutek (Montreal). https://www.clonworks.com https://www.estelaoliva.com
