3DSND has designed a surround sound system which enables deep and engaging experiences of Sound Spatialisation. The "Immersive Sound Stage", an interactive sound installation, lets the audience experience and interact with three-dimensional spatial sound through direct and indirect inputs such as movements, hand motion, sensors and biofeedback data.
"Our vision is to equip music lovers, creative minds and sound fanatics with the best tools to play with spatial sound and create unprecedented immersive experiences."
THE IMMERSIVE SOUND STAGE
[11 AM - 1 PM] THE INTERACTIVE MOVIE MAKER
An interactive sound game designed to raise our awareness to the multitude of noises that surround us in our daily lives in a creative and engaging way. Players can enjoy stories they create through hand gestures following visual instructions.
[1 PM - 3 PM] SHADOW CITY
A non-visual interactive game. Conceptualized and designed by a group of young graduates from the Master in Multimedia Entertainment Technology at the School of Design, PolyU.
[3 PM - 5 PM] MUSIC HANDOUT
Is an exploration into novel interface design for music composition and production using hand motion as primary input. The installation exposes the audience to a control system that removes the need to understand the complexity of music composition in favor of a more intuitive and effortless approach that does not rely on prior conceptual knowledge. The stage becomes a collaborative environment able to accommodate simultaneously up to 4 people, each affecting through hand tracking different instruments and their parameters, including sound spatialization.
