    Workshop 1 - Sónar+D

Utilising the techno-magic of hardware-hacking, f i e l d combines a stroke of graphite, a slip of copper and an audio speaker to create a musical instrument. This two-hour workshop lets participants explore and assemble such an instrument and then use it to create sounds. No prior knowledge is necessary; we invite mistakes, experimentation and random static.

Participants keep the finished PCB kit to take home.

Sónar+D workshops require separate registration and payment.

Michelle Poon works in the inter-disciplinary field of architecture, design and research by combining engineering and interaction/user experience design towards immersive environments.

The approach that borders commercial architecture and subversive work occupies the interstitial space between physical and virtual; art and architecture; technical and abstract. These investigations are to examine patterns in perceptual mechanisms and social identities emerging in these points-of-tensions.
