Innovative producer, master sound curator, and ambassador from the Chinese musical underground, Howie Lee fuses together his Chinese heritage and British training. Beijing based, Lee’s distinct approach blends local samples, traditional Chinese sounds and inventive modern rhythms demonstrating a rising awareness of what contemporary dance music can be.

After being hit up by Snoop Lion for a remix in 2012, Lee’s “future music from Downtown Beijing” busted out of China to captivate crowds with its thoroughly unique style. Music drenched thickly in bass and imbued with the fresh feel of youth. Garnering support from the likes of Plastician, Scratcha DVA, The Gaslamp Killer, Joe Kay(Soulection), Gilles Peterson and more, Lee was named Time Out Beijing’s Best DJ of 2014.
